They are there, shining!
2017 Single-channel video, color, sound 06’09” This was in April 2016, the number of fireflies in Haulien has increased significantly, they were full of the forest quickly in the dark. Fireflies are caught by video into exhibition space, so they occur a qualitative change, become light spots. Audience only can use eyes to see the light spots, cannot use hand to catch. In the work, the video is reconstructed, these light spots, tree shadows and sounds are formed a new harmony that between reality and virtual. The curve of the audience’s senses is intensified in the darkness. Light spots just are there, shining, they don’t have to convey any ideas, nor do make audience start thinking, they just open the viewer’s perception to sense. Light spots as the elf-like are beating in the dark. In the slightest sound, dark flat depth of field gradually spreads the expansion and then slowly fades. Such as the Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, audience vaguely doubts whether these spots are living organisms or computer graphics. |
他們就在那裡,閃閃發亮
2017 單頻道錄像,彩色/有聲 06’09” 這是2016年4月間,花蓮的螢火蟲數量大增,天一黑就快速佈滿樹林間。錄像把螢火蟲抓進展場裡,於是牠們發生質變,成為光點。而光點只能用眼睛看,伸手是抓不到的。 作品中,錄像進行重構,這些光點、樹影、聲響,共同組成一個新的和諧,擺盪在現實和虛擬之間。觀眾的感官在黑暗中被放大,光點就「在那裡」閃閃發亮,沒有要傳達什麼理念,也沒有啟動思考,就只是打開知覺去感受。光點如精靈般在黑暗中跳動,黑暗扁平化的景深,在輕微的聲響中逐漸漫延擴張,到最後緩緩褪去,就像莎士比亞筆下的一場仲夏夜之夢,依稀疑惑這些光點究竟是生物還是電腦繪製。 |
